Quick, what’s the oldest language in Europe? Could it be Spanish? French? No, it’s a language you may not have even heard of: Euskara, a Basque language. The Basque community may be one of the only indigenous populations in Europe. So where exactly is “Basque country” located? There’s no country called “Basque” on any maps. You’ll find it in the Pyrenees mountains comprising parts of France and Spain. Basque culture and language is different from that of other parts of France or Spain.
