DIG February 2016 Like its sister publication, FACES, DIG INTO HISTORY is traveling to Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey this month. Articles include “A New Rome,” “Let’s Meet” about how regular people 2,000 years ago would meet their neighbors at the baths, and “An Obelisk at the Hippodrome” which explores why an Egyptian obelisk would be found in this ancient city. Young archeologists will also learn about Emperor Justinian, examine the role of the church known as Hagia Sophia, and take a trip to the Istanbul of today.
