You may not necessarily know the name Ida B. Wells-Barnett but she’s a historical figure worth reading about. She was an advocate for civil rights, women’s rights, and raising awareness of lynching more than 100 years ago, when taking a stance for any one of those issues was potentially dangerous.

Wells-Barnett was a progressive Black journalist who brought the cruel and horrible practice of lynching to the forefront of the American purview and worked tirelessly to improve the lives of her fellow Black citizens.
