World War II was a turning point in history not only for America, but for the world. But what was it like to live in America during this uncertain period? In this edition of COBBLESTONE magazine, your kids will get a chance to walk in the shoes of Americans prior to and during World War II and see our history through their eyes.
From boats in the seas to boots on the ground, COBBLESTONE takes you inside America, looking at how we mobilized for war, how the women stepped up and redefined their roles during the war effort, the contributions even kids were making, and the position of the President as the war unfolded. With balanced perspective, you’ll also learn about some of the more distressing decisions America made at the time including building policies around anti-Japanese sentiments and the reasons behind race riots.
